Rick Noriega knows that Washington's failure to address our crumbling school system is failing our children and destroying our future.  As a U.S. Senator Noriega will settle for nothing less than giving our children the vital skills and values needed to compete in the 21st century global economy and will fight off any measures that create barriers to higher education. 

As a State Representative Rick stood on the frontlines and spoke out against tuition deregulation at Texas universities because he knew this would result in higher tuition rates and essentially create a devastating tax increase on middle-class families.   And Rick fought to give teachers the resources in the classroom needed to do their jobs and the pay and benefits they deserved.  

In the U.S Senate, Rick will work for innovative solutions on education: make a college education and post-high school training affordable so our kids can get the best jobs in the 21st Century.  And he'll work to fix the so-called "No Child Left Behind" law so that measures of student achievement and classroom accountability go beyond a single standardized test, and he'll end unfunded education mandates out of Washington.
